Leshan is a prefecture-level city in Sichuan Province. Located about 120 km from Chengdu, Leshan lies on the confluence of three rivers and is surrounded by mountains. Having a history of more than 3000 years, Leshan is well-known for its cultural relics and natural beauty.

Leshan is home to the World Heritage Site that includes the Giant Buddha and Mount Emei. Being the largest stone-carved sculpture in China, the Leshan Buddha dates back to the 8th century. The scenic area of the Giant Buddha has many smaller carvings of various Buddhas, unique Buddhas statues, as well as a few picturesque temples and shrines. This place attracts millions of visitors any time of the year who come to see the biggest Buddha in the world.

Mount Emei located in Leshan is another remarkable place that offers stunning views of the city. The top of the mountain has a few scenic spots including temples, pavilions, and the Golden Summit that seemingly reaches the sky.

Leshan is also known for its tea culture. Numerous tea houses serving different kinds of Chinese tea can be found in any part of the city. The locals love to spend their time drinking tea and playing board games.
